Sandgrains has been selected for the International Green Competition a the Green Film Festival in Seoul, South Korea. This festival, running from May 9th to 16th, is unfortunately too far for us to attend but we hope that Koreans will enjoy it and if anyone has a friend in Seoul please pass on the news!
We have been invited to list Sandgrains in the Media Library of the Visions du Réel Documentary Film Festival in Switzerland. This event is one of the major documentary film markets in Europe and even though we have not been selected to screen the film at the actual festival we are very hopeful that the room dedicated to the Doc Outlook Market, where commissioners and buyers can watch a list of 350 noteworthy documentaries, can lead to something interesting.
The festival runs from the 19th until the 26th of April in Nyon, on the shores of Lake Geneve and Jordie will be going to represent Matchbox.
Here you can check out the page the festival has dedicated to our project.
Walking around Sheffield you can see the city full of the festival's delegates with their pink passes and bags.
2000 international delegates, over 100 documentaries, 70 industry sessions, pitching events, free drinks from the BBC and much more!
Today we are pitching at the Frontline Club's Matchmaking event! The club championing independent journalism in the UK.
A good test to prepare ourselves for the major pitch at the Crowdfunding Day tomorrow.
We finally arrived in Sheffield for the Doc/Fest and are entering the networking world!
We woke up with a nice surprise as we have been also selected to present the film at Frontline's Club Matchmaking Event at the festival. So we will have another opportunity to be on stage to present the project!!!
Tomorrow we leave for Sheffield with butterflies crowding our bellies ahead of the upcoming Crowdfunding Pitch. We compete against four other projects and the vote is decided online at www.cubanhat.tv on Saturday the 11th between 4 and 6 pm.
Looking forward to a week of intense networking and an abundance of documentaries!
